Eva Gaelle Green was born on July 6, 1980, in Paris, France. She has a fraternal twin sister named Joy Green, who was born minutes later. Her parents are Walter Green, a Swedish dentist, and Marlène Jobert, a famous French actress, who was an influence to Eva because of her work. Besides growing up watching her mother’s films, Eva was on a magazine cover when she was only two months old.

After finishing normal school, Eva, who was always committed to keeping good grades, joined theater school and had Eva St Paul as a mentor. St Paul is a specialist in the field, and taught Eva for three years. Among her improvements as an actress, Eva gained more experience being part of a theatrical comedy, Turcaret, in 2002.

Shortly thereafter, Eva found herself chosen for an important and decisive role (for the resourcefulness
and self-confidence that it demanded) in the film The Dreamers, directed by Bernardo Bertolucci. After that, there were many proposals for photographic essays, alliances with brands and contacts in the artistic field so Eva could get even more prominent roles.

Besides Bertolucci, she was already directed by Ridley Scott, Martin Campbell and other renowned directors. For having great admiration with the independent cinema, Eva did and still is part of some of these productions, like the films Cracks, Womb and White Bird in a Blizzard.

Recently she was involved in the television series, Penny Dreadful that was on air during 2014-2016 with the demanding role of Vanessa Ives, which guaranteed her a Golden Globe nomination.

Eva is constantly traveling for work, but it’s something she also enjoys doing during the holidays. She considers her work a therapy and self-knowledge, and dedicates her free time to reading, classical music, and physical activity.
